Thank you everyone for joining us in this, the final event of the 2017/18 series of 80m contests. We hope you've enjoyed taking part and will join us again after the summer break when the next series will begin. Keep checking this website and the UK Contest Forum for details and updates and don't forget the UK/EI DX SSB Contest which will take place on 30th Sept/1st Oct 2018. Have a great summer..!

The band seemed busy tonight with lots of EU activity, although new calls were scarce towards the end. It was fun running the real time scoreboard and watching calls swapping places over and over. Graham G4FNL and I appeared to be developing a mini skirmish and he had the beating of me in the end as to be expected. This 'toy' will become more interesting as more participants use it - hint...

Congratulations to Graham G4FNL for winning the high power section, to Allan SM5CSS for leading a very busy low power section and being overall winner, and to Jan OM3WZ for an impressive performance in winning the QRP section.

73,

Stew, GW0ETF / GW4J

Results - 4th April 2018 - SSB

Thank you to all those who entered this evening's 80m SSB contest, the last SSB contest in this series of contests.
The very last contest is the CW leg which is on Wednesday 25th April at 20.00 UTC .

You usually get a report from Chris GM3WOJ in Inverness in the North of Scotland.  This report is being written in the far South of England in IO80, where conditions are always very different.  Congratulations to Chris for his dominant score, but also to Henk PA7WW (100w) and Graham G4FNL for putting in strong challenges from "the balmy tropics" of these southern latitudes.

After the CQ WPX 48hr and the UKEI DX 24hr contest for the last two weekends, many of us are "contested out" and need to take a rest and spend some "family time".
But please remember to join us for the final CW 80m contest at the end of April.

Results - 28th March 2018 - CW

Thanks for taking part in the penultimate CW contest of this series. Conditions in North Wales seemed good but lots of variations in signal strengths from both UK and DX. Three logs were received from operations outside of the contest period and we apologise for any confusion caused by the reversion to the original timings; this was publicised in several locations over the previous month and we can only apologise if some didn't see it.The Cwops contest taking place between 1900 and 2000 increased the confusion but would have been much worse had they coincided..!

Congratulations go to S57KM for winning overall using low power, just ahead of GM3WOJ who heads the high power section. M7R (G0TPH) heads up a keenly fought QRP section..

The next contest is the DX contest on March 31st/April 1st 1200-1200z with the final ssb event of this series of 80m contests the following Wednesday, April 4th from **2000-2100z**

Here near Inverness I found conditions good - I made 60 QSOs in the first half hour, but then things fizzled a bit and the QSO rate dropped. The band was very busy, with several nets, including one on 3736 that I tuned across when they were ranting at some unfortunate contesters :-(

IMPORTANT MESSAGE :  due to a clash with the CWops contests on the last Wednesday of this month and next month, we have decided to revert to the original timing i.e. 2000-2100z for the last three contests in this series. Sorry about any confusion. Please pass this info to your friends.

As your adjudicator had the highest points score, the scoring of this event was cross-checked and verified by the other three adjudicators via our regular post-contest Skype conference call. Congratulations to Allan GM4Z (GM4ZUK) in second place Overall and the High Power section. Congratulations to Sandi S57KM in first place in the Low Power section, with Ed GM3C (GM0WED) in second place. Congratulations to Reg G3TDH as the winner (and only entrant this month) of the QRP section. UBN files have been sent out by e-mail.

The Teams Competition remains closely fought - the draconian discipline imposed on the Pembrokeshire Contest Group team members is keeping them just ahead of the Dream Team!

Next contest - 28th March - CW.  The final three contests will be adjudicated by Paul, Tim and Stewart.  More detailed Results tables will be added below in the next few days.  We will be completely restructuring these webpages before the next contest season.

Looking forward to our UK/EI DX CW Contest on 31st March / 1st April - click here for the Rules

Results - 28th February 2018 - CW

Thank you, everyone, for entering this evening's 80m CW contest.
This was my first adjudication, partly helped by Chris and Paul.

These results are provisional and may be edited over the next day or so.

This evening we had quite a few new callsigns appearing in the logs, from all parts of Europe.
Personally, I really enjoy these contests for the  variety of stations that can be worked, QRP or QRO, local or DX.
So if you find there's something that you DO NOT like about these contests, please tell the Adjudicators.
But if you DO like these contests, Please Tell Your Friends !

Don't forget that next week is the 80m SSB contest at 2000utc, but after that the 80m contests at the end of March and in April will start at 1900utc .

Also don't forget that the UK/EI DX CW contest takes place on 31 March / 1st April, only four weeks away.

Great Contest Thanks for the Q's tonight 73 de Phil G4NVR -- G4NVR

Hum.... A last minute decision to come on and didn't read the rules. Thought I had seen posting saying it was SSB. Worked one station there before figuring it was all very quiet and checking the rules and found CW! Rolled straight into Stew Perry mode in Win-Test and then discovered that there was no support for cluster / bandmaps when on 80 so ran un-connected and antenna for 2nd Rx was burried under snow so that wasn't working right either. Heard lots of stations calling others who I had not worked as well. Fun though... K3 + PA. 400W. Inv-V Dipole @ 18m -- G4PIQ

Great session tonight -- G4RCG

Results - 7th February 2018 - SSB

Thanks for entering the second 80m SSB contest of 2018. (There are only two SSB contests left in this 2017/18 series). Here near Inverness I found conditions tough - 80m was filled with ragchewers and other data noises. I even got chased off the 'SSTV frequency' despite asking 3 times if it was in use followed by 5 CQs :-(

Congratulations to Drasko HG1G on winning Overal and the High Power section, and to Thorsten DM5TS in second place. Also to Sandi S57KM on winning the Low Power section, with Didier F1FPL in second place. Bryn G3SWC won the QRP section, with Reg G3TDH in second place.

We received two logs which were corrupted and could not be fixed - sorry guys. Another log had the annoying N1MM+ 'IO93' fault - please use the latest version of the .udc file which sorts this.UBN files have been sent by e-mail. Further results tables will be added a.s.a.p.

The Teams Competition webpage has been updated - please check and let us know if we have missed any of your team's scores. We are pleased to welcome a late entry from the Tall Trees Contest Group (Jim G3KAF, Reg G3TDH and Nick M1DDD)

This webpage is now too large - for the 2018/19 series of contests we will have separate results webpages for each event.

Next contest - CW - on 28th February 2018.                            73   Chris GM3WOJ, Paul EI5DI - Adjudicators

Thanks to everyone who entered the first 80m CW contest of 2018. We are very pleased to have a record number of entrants this evening and a record number of QSOs made in the 60 minutes - thanks everyone for your support!  Welcome to some first-time entrants and Happy Birthday to regular entrant Allan GM4ZUK/GM4Z!  Like many of you, here near Inverness I found conditions very good for DX.

Congratulations to Allan GM4Z (GM4ZUK) on winning Overall and the High Power section, also to Drasko HG1G in second place. Congratulations to Sandi S57KM on winning the Low Power section with Allan SM5CSS in second place. Also to Alan M7R (G0TPH) on winning the QRP section with Al G3ZBU in second place.   Everyone's UBN file has been e-mailed to them.

We are pleased to welcome Tim G4FJK/G8X and Stewart GW0ETF/GW4J as new Adjudicators, which will allow us to run a rota system (you'll also not have to endure my rambling commentaries every month, hi)  We are in the process of recruiting two or three more Adjudicators. (The adjudication takes the software about 40 nanoseconds, but the peripheral tasks take about an hour for each event)

Reminder - the last 3 contests in this 2017/18 series are one hour earlier i.e. 1900-2000z

Next contest - 7th February - SSB               73   Chris GM3WOJ, Paul EI5DI - Adjudicators

Results - 3rd January 2018 - SSB

Thanks for entering the first UKEICC 80m contest of 2018. Welcome to the stations who had never entered a UKEICC 80m contest before - we hope you liked the simple format and the speedy results!   Here near Inverness I found conditions strange - the EI and GM stations were very weak for most of the hour, but some G and most Eu signals were strong, but buried under lots of Eu non-contest QSOs. This changed at about 2040z, when I started to copy contest signals much better - but this evening was tough as you probably also found.

Congratulations to Graham G4FNL on winning Overall and the High Power section. This is an especially noteable achievement given Graham's location on the South Coast of England i.e. not at a great distance from the centres of activity like some of us! To work more than 100 stations is very good too (our SK friend and team member Steve GW4BLE was the first to work more than 100 stations in any UKEICC 80m contest)  Congratulations also to Thorsten DM5TS in second place High Power, to Allan SM5CSS on winning the Low Power section with Dave 2E0KVJ in second place, and to Bruce G4ABX on winning the QRP section, with Scott MM3AWD in second place.

Your UBN file will be sent out by e-mail this morning (5th Jan) and Paul EI5DI will add more results tables over the next few days. Other webpages will be updated a.s.a.p.

One or two e-mails mentioned problems with the N1MM+ UDC file. I had a problem here, after installing a new Windows 10 PC in my shack and forgetting to install the UDC until the last minute, which did not work. We will check that the UDC which the Rules link to is a fully-compatible one, hopefully before the next contest on 31st January. Please do not use N3FJP's Stew Perry template - it has the contest starting at 2100 and finishing at 2000!

* * Advance notice - for several reasons, including to make participation by our contesting friends in Eastern Europe easier, the last three contests of this series (March and April 2017) and the first three 80m contests in the 2018/19 series will be from 1900 to 2000z, i.e. 1 hour earlier (as was the case in the first 80m series). The current 2000-2100z means it is very late in the evening if you live several time zones East of GMT. So - changes to the 80m contest times starting with the March 28th CW contest * *

Next UKEICC contest - CW on 31st January 2018                               73   Chris  GM3WOJ, Paul EI5DI - Adjudicators
